Ghostlight announce Persona 2: Innocent Sin

Hi everyone.  I believe we promised you some announcements in last Thursday blog and looking at your comments I think I’m going to make some of you very happy.

I’m delighted to be able to announce that Ghostlight will be releasing Atlus’ fantastic Persona 2: Innocent Sin for the PlayStation Portable throughout the PAL region.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin features a fascinating rumour crafting mechanic, the kind of dark, compelling storytelling for which the Persona series is so well known, typically stylish visuals and is a must for all the Persona fans introduced to the series by Persona 3 Portable (as I was:)).

While we don’t have many details yet, I know we’re planning on releasing another of our stunning Collector’s Editions later this year.  So keep an eye on our Blog/Twitter/Facebook for all the latest news and all the other amazing games *cough*Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky*cough* that we’re currently working on.

Friday comes early with P3P and Trails in the Sky news

Thu, 4th Aug 2011 | Posted by Ross

I hope you are adjusting to the idea of our blogs going up on Thursday. I’ve found it works better as comments aren’t closed for 2 days straight after posting, and we’ve had some interesting conversations below the line on the last blog.

Anyway, what have I been up to this week you ask?  Well, I’ve been madly busy so first up is a little update for P3P on PSN, which I’m beginning to suspect some of you are quite keen on.  I still don’t have a concrete release date yet (groan) but I can tell you that you won’t have long to wait.  The PSN master of P3P is with the SCEE compat testing team as I type so unless they find any problems, we should have some more solid news for you in the next blog (hooray!)

I’ve also been doing a lot of work on the manual for Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, along with helping to choose materials and art resources for the Collector’s Edition (more on that next week).  Plus I’ve been checking reviews for TitS ;-) and it's great, although not unexpected, to see how much everyone really loves this game. The Metascore still stands at an incredible 80% while the User Score is even higher at a fantastic 89%.

On top of all this, I’ve been busy with something slightly more unusual as I’ve been answering questions for an interview with the lovely guys over at Play Magazine.  I’ve never been interviewed before and I’m finding it really rather exciting.  I’m not sure which issue my interview will be in (I haven’t actually finished answering the questions yet) but I’ll let you know when, so that you can hear what I have to say from the dizzy heights of my soapbox.

That’s all for this week but I’m already looking forward to joining you again next week, where amongst other things I’ll be confirming the release details for P3P on PSN, as well as announcing yet another new game that we’ve just licensed!

Not the Friday Blog – Featuring Trails in the Sky

Thu, 28th Jul 2011 | Posted by Ross

Hi everyone!

It’s Friday and that means … whoa wait a minute, what is this?  It’s Thursday!  That can’t be right let me just check...

Yes, the Ghostlight Friday blog has been moved to a Thursday.  But don’t worry, I’ll still be bringing you all the latest news from Ghostlight, it will just be a day earlier. It does mean I’m going to have think of something new to call these blogs.

Obviously the big news from last week was the delay of Agarest: Generations of War Zero (PS3). We’re still making sure that the next date we give you will be the final release date, but we should have something for you soon. In the meantime, there’s still loads to talk about, as I’ve had two very exciting jobs since our last blog.

I’ve spent most of my week doing prep work for Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (PSP). While on their own none of these tasks are hugely interesting - consisting mainly of checking through a few Excel sheets and burning lots of DVDs, most of which have been sent off to various ratings boards - I’ve actually enjoyed doing all this, as everything I do brings the moment where I get to test Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky closer :)

Talking about Trails in the Sky (and that’s something I could do all day :)) it really is a game where the journey is its own reward.  The ending is superb, managing to wrap up the storyline of the game while still leaving you wanting more, but undoubtedly the best thing about the game from a storyline perspective is the way it draws you in through the fantastic dialogue and brilliant characterisation.  Several Trails in the Sky characters have made their way into my all-time favourite gaming characters: Estelle and Joshua Bright, Scherazard and Olivier are all particularly good fun.

It appears I did miss out one person who managed to guess Trails in the Sky so a belated ‘Well done!’ to jpgames-de from my Twitter.

Which brings me nicely on to the second exciting task I’ve been doing.  I was asked earlier this week to write up an announcement for the latest game we’ve picked up.  When I mentioned this in passing on Twitter it caused quite a bit of excitement as well as a few followers suggesting I was a tease or even a bit evil :).

Anyway that’s all for this week and I’ll see you next week with another <insert new name here> blog.
